…that’s because he as gone as written off his McLaren F1 car! The McLaren F1 was (and still is) a phenomenal car. Released in 1998, it held the record for the fastest road production car ever built. Even to this day is ranked right up there with modern day supercars. In fact, the McLaren F1 is still the fastest naturally aspirated production car in the world – 13 years later!
Its my all time favourite car and cost £600,000 when new, not bad when you consider buying a McLaren F1 today would set you back around 4 times that amount – a real investment!
Given that only 106 cars were made, getting parts can be some what tricky to come by which probably means Rowan’s car will be off the road for some time!
I wish him a speedy recovery and hope he hasn’t sustained any long term injury – other than that caused to his wallet!
UPDATE: Rowan Atkinson has reportedly left hospital after suffering a broken shoulder. I wish him a full recovery.
